Well, it’s 1:30 am. I really should be asleep.. But of course I’m not. <\/p>\n
The reason this post is friends only is because it’d probably be bad for work to see that I am taking Thursday off for an interview.<\/p>\n
I relaxed tonight by going to a casino. I took $100 to a 3\/6 table. (A longer post will come tomorrow on my poker filter). The table was full of calling stations (people who pretty much ride a hand into the ground).. I went down slowly with a continual array of bad cards or good cards with bad flops. Finally, with a nut flush in my hand I went down to the felt, won and started to come back up. My best hand of the night was pocket kings. I pre-flop raised. The flop came down K66, And I took in about 100 for the hand. I got as high as $220. I left the table with about $200 in winnings. So.. doubling up not bad.<\/p>\n
As for Thursday. I have had two phone interviews with this company. The position is exactly where I am in my career. I have strong familiarity with the technologies and a strong balance of leadership for the rest. It’s going to be a grueling day tomorrow with 6 30 minute session with everyone from techs on the team to the manager, to the manager’s VP boss, to the manager’s peer that I’d have to interact with.<\/p>\n
Things have gone fairly well so far on this front. Like I said, there have been two phone interviews. Both seem to have gone well.I have to admit.. I want this one. It may have some strong reprocussions in my life. Which so as not to put the horse before the cart, I will deal with and talk about when the time is more appropriate.<\/p>\n
All I can ask now is that anyone who reads this journal send happy thoughts of strength and success.<\/p>\n
I had a chat with Luck (or more accurately my HGA) at the poker table last night. As the Casino played wall to wall 80’s music (and some of my favourite stuff too \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
Well, luck looked at me and said,
\n“It’s never smooth or what you expect. But if you know how to back off the crap and let someone else handle it… If you only bluff when you know you’re gonna take it all, and stick to the stuff you know is golden… You’re good. Start messing with crap you know damn well will bite you… and you’re gonna get bitten.”<\/p>\n
Kids, the secret to kaballah isn’t adding it up. Kaballah is realizing that ‘it’s all the same’<\/p>\n

I just have to tell myself I’ve already got the job. I just haven’t reached the date where I can prove it.<\/p>\n
Well, for now… I got the interview.. Wish me luck. Wish me a helpful HGA \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
Hmmn. 4 hrs 20 minutes of sleep. Whee.<\/p>\n
