W-14.. 2 weeks

Why do I love her?

We talked about wedding registries today. We’d laughed that Fry’s doesn’t have one.

I said, “Home Depot”
She smiled and shivered.
I responded, “I love that that concept turns you on.”
She grinned and said, “Mitre saw. Yum.”

W-16 …

Well, I’ve made a promise to myself to post more again.

I should be more tired… I was up until about 2am last night. Wednesday was our first free evening in probably a week. It was also out only really free weeknight together this week.

  • Mon – Thelemic Advanced Study Group (me)
  • Tue – H’s class for our group (H & me)
  • Thu – Thelemic Ritual Class (H & me)
  • Fri – Wonderfalls screening

Special note: I will be posting about that Friday thing later today.

So, we spent last night working on the wedding ceremony. Since I’m an ordained priest and H is a novice in our church we wanted to make a nice and appropriate wedding ritual. For those familiar with weddings the format will be fairly familiar. But we’re trying to adjust it to be more representative of our philosophy, religion, beliefs, and relationship. (At least that’s my view, I don’t speak for H directly, you can ask her 😉

We did a good bit of work last night. We still have a fair amount to write. AS for what we did last night, it was a wonderful experience. I got kinda goose-bumpy in places. We worked well together passing the text back and forth and making tweaks and revisions. H even cut out little representations of the clergy and us and the altars in the temple so that we could verify everyone’s movement. (I asked her after she laid out the pieces, why she never got into football)

We’ve both been exceedingly busy. I’ve had a very busy work schedule and just wrapped up a two part class for our group. H has been dealing with comic-con and a class, and a huge ritual she just underwent, and the upcoming next issue of the group’s newsletter. And of course on top of that is a wedding that is less than 2 1/2 weeks away. It was nice to spend an evening with H doing a mutual project. More tomorrow… 🙂

So! The sidekick is home, safe and sound. I am not an addict! I am not an addict!

While looking for a picture of the sidekick, I came across a new site. This is called ‘dodgeball

This is yet another FOAFer in vein of friendster, orkut, tribe, and for those who remember sixdegrees (which was actually one of the better ones, though now defunct)

So, what makes Dodgeball any different? (Ma nishta na halaylah hazeh?)

Dodgeball.com interacts with you via cell phone. You tell it what venue you are near/at and it will tell you who is within 10 blocks of you on your friends or friends-of-friends list. You of course can control who can and can’t get these updates. They refer to this friends list management as the “ex-girlfriend bug”

Dodgeball also has a ‘crush list’ much like orkut. So most of you males can also be frustrated at the number of female friends that you have 😉

So… I invite people to look at Dodgeball and to add me as a friend if it is your will to do so. I will check it routinely and add people as well as they join the service/notify me.

IN the words of Leslie Neilsen in ‘Airplane!,’ “Good luck. We’re all counting on you.”

Developer talk…

From a chat with fraserspeirs after I helped him locate a bug in xjournal

F for Fraser (edited), A: for Me (also edited)

F:So I think I’ve fixed your reported bug from yesterday

   A:Oh?

F:Oh, no, I haven’t. I’ve actually broken it

F:always test a fix before boasting about it

A:Oh, phew. I was worried. A 24 hour fix without ruing the code? What kind of a developer do you think you are ;?)

F:haha

I arrived at the office at 11:30 today. Yeah.. 2.5 hrs late. I was waiting at home for UPS.

UPS this morning delivered to me… My missing sidekick. It works, it’s memory is intact.

Happy, happy Andrei 😀
