I really love the film version of Jeffrey (having not seen the stage show)

Nathan Lane plays a Catholic Priest (which he defines as somewhere between Altar Boy and Florist). He explains where most get their view of “God”

The Broadway artwork for My Fair Lady.

The big bearded man in he cloud pulling Rex Harrison’s strings.

I was raised Jewish. So I got the Jew’s eye view of God. (I refuse to use the term old testament as I always preferred “Testement of the God of the Jews, the cheap dime store sequel, and the wrap up to the unintended triology penned by that crazy guy”) Granted, the Jew’s eye view of God is that God is a scary male, like diety with often impossible expectations and a penchant for temper-tantrums. On the upside, he did say that polygamy was not only recommended but was in fact a blessing. Sadly, he was also way to misogynistic for my tastes… but I was a young twice-a-year Jew (We went to synagogue for Yom-Kippur and Rosh-Hashanna and spent the rest of the year looking forward to celebrating Chanukah (official andrei-english spelling) and suffering thru Passover.)

When you’re raised a sort of Reformed-Hassidic-Conservadox Jew (our piety was metered by how close the Rabbi lived to us)… you get a rather warped view of your religion.

Next up… My collegiate disagreement with God. Loopholing bartering my soul to the devil. And Why Wiccanism didn’t work for me.

All on the trip down amnesia lane of what makes up my current view of God.

Voice Post:

I have the idea for one or two S&F filtered posts I want to write. But unfortunately they do not cover the requirements of the day. Also… while I don’t think she’s posted it yet… I think shimmeringjemmy may have come up with an amazing idea for next year’s Blogathon.

I am contemplating the question of god. Not the big universal.. “I am human” Question of God… the request for today’s blogathon.. post about God. it is coming… I just need to chew on it and get it written up.

Later I may have to post by voice. I’m looking for people willing to transcribe if that occurs 🙂

It is difficult to focus on anything for extended periods of time. The boy is pretty much mobile. He will find any item and rip into it. Moments ago I saw him grab a bag of nacho chips that had been on a window sill. He managed to in a period of four seconds pick up the back and shake it.

By the time I was standing and halfway across the room, the bag was inverted and the floor was covered in chips. Everywhere. Of course you look up and the boy has a gleam of pride in his eyes.

It’s interesting. Maybe it’s because I’ve changed him at least 400 times (Yes that number is probably an accurate estimation).. but I get surprised when people think that Aiden is a girl. To me.. he’s pretty much “all boy.”

(stepped away from this post for a moment)

Make that 401. And OMG! I’m so happy we’re feeding him 8-{

Thanks to shimmeringjemmy for this picture today

I’ve been able to keep up with the posting schedule so far. sidhefire asked me to write a story about God. That may be an ongoing project.

I suppose I should ask if this should be a work of fiction (as opposed to the bible which so far is holding the number 1 spot on the fiction list despite the assault of Harry Potter). Or perhaps it should be more of an essay concerning my views.

As mentioned earlier in the week, aiden_freeman has teeth now. And they are growing faster than an Asian bad guy’s fingernails in an old martial art flick.

The downside to this is that Diaper time is becoming… well… ugly.

Aiden in the mean time is hammering on the drum that is neither a Djimbe nor a Doumbek. I’m not quite sure what it is, actually. But he’s happily pummeling it.

Hmmn, he drools, babbles incoherently, almost has a sense of rhythm and lives off his parents. Yup… Musician.
