This is actually a not-so-new solution to multiplying big numbers by hand.
It’s really impressive. Be patient. The setup takes a bit but you’ll see once everything is gridded, it makes multiplication sooooo much easier.

This is either utter genius in the making or a new form of torture that Amnesty International should be made aware of.
