Yes… I am now in New York City for a conference. So much for my thelemic spirt. No three-days for me.

Took the jet blue redeye to Boston. Met up with my sweetie (It’s a public post, so I need the right adjective) and flew from Boston to JFK. Then we went to the JFK airtrain. You know how they always talk about that 3rd rail thing. Well, as we were waiting a piece of tubing fell onto the third rail. There was a big bang and bright flash. Whee, NY.

From the Airtrain to the A-train. And now deep in the heart of… Well… the place is quaint… precious… darling… Faaaaaaabulous. 🙂

We’re in the mini-lobby/kitchen. There is wifi. The room will be ready… shortly.

Then I think some unwinding before we try to see if we can muster lottery tickets for Rent 🙂

More as I have time…

Observation for the day

So shimmeringjemmy is on the main computer looking at a graphic of a galaxy. It’s a photograph of some galaxy from a telescope. Swirly and the whole 9 yards.

It’s about 400×600 on the screen.

She hits (actual size) on the picture viewer program and the picture grows about 10%.

I look up and say, “Well, that’s a f*&$’in lie!”

She laughs.

Guess the computer doesn’t know how big the galaxy actually is 🙂

Movie Review: ID4

I have finally watched the movie: Independence Day.

To show how much I can ignore popular culture.. it has only taken me 10 years to bother with this film.

I’d say it was a bother.. .but it was exactly what I always expected it to be. a “S*#t blows up” film. Personally, the film actually annoyed me with a lot of “Nationalism” ra-ra feelings.

The whole film really adds up to a 50’s alien-invading film with 90’s effects. And as much as I’m the kind to cheer to an Apple Macintosh Powerbook XXXX (Love the model number) that logs into the alien technology…. The reality of things just became to inane to believe.

I’m not sure which seems better in the long run… this, Mars Atacks, or The Core.

Personally, I really don’t think Hollywood even wants to try anymore.

No surprises, no hidden agendas, and in case you are going to try to go longer than me…. SPOILER INFO

Thanks
