Nearing the end of my second week of work. My body is okay with the getting up at 5 a.m. part. I even get out the door by 5:30. If I’m at work by 6 that means I can leave by 3 with an hour lunch. Earlier with less of a lunch.
The down side is that my body hasn’t acclimated to what it needs to do to prepare for getting up at 5 a.m. I can’t reall get to sleep until around midnight. Ooh! 5 hours of sleep. (Because I go right to sleep when my head hits the pillow. Oh yeah, Yup, yesseree bob (sigh))
I hate going to bed before 11. However, with the 5am rise… I may have to push back…
Yigh… Sleep again soon. 😉
« Kitties have gooood hearing I’m moving through some changes… »
Arrrgh. I did that for a while – had a job that was out in the ‘burbs and if I’d tried to go during the rush hour(s), I’d have sat in traffic for even longer than I did. And I’d get up at 5am and try to go to bed at 9pm and eventually, I decided the job was not worth it.
(It was the sleep-deprivation induced fibromyalgia flare that did it.)
See, I go exactly the oposite way with it… I get up at 7:30 to be into the office by 9:30 (unless I am late, which has been happening a lot lately). I then work until 6… I miss the traffic, and ge6t to sleep in… If I cut my hair, I could get up even later.
You really ought to take better care of yourself, my dear. In the sleep realm, I’m not the best example, I know. But you have two options. One, go to work (and thus leave work) later. Two, go to bed earlier. It takes a minimum of 21 days for most people’s bodies to adjust to a new sleep schedule, and it has to be pretty consistent–which means you can’t stay up until 2 a.m. every weekend night and then expect your body to recover.
You could also move to a place closer to work to shorten the commute, but then that brings in a whole new set of costs and benefits to analyze.
BTW, you and Heather crashing with me this weekend? Yes?
