Intimate Fire held a solstice ritual on Thursday evening (Dec 21, 2006) at Moonflower Magick

We had about 11 people from the local community join us as well as a reporter from the Everett Herald.

The reporter wrote a nice piece on Solstice and Intimate Fire..and Moonflower in Friday’s paper.

The original article is also posted to their online site at:
http://www.heraldnet.com/stories/06/12/22/100loc_b1solstice001.cfm

It’s a good article with only a few small corrections that I sent in…

Herald:
Intimate Fire, a group that hopes to become the Snohomish County chapter of Orto Templi Orientis, an international organization that traces itself back to the Knights of Templar.

Corrected:
Intimate Fire, a group that hopes to become the Snohomish County body of Ordo Templi Orientis, an international organization that traces itself back to the Knights Templar.

Note: I gave her the OTO press package. I’m not sure where the Knights templar reference came up. I didn’t give her that.

Herald:
“It’s based on an ancient ritual that if you didn’t do the right ceremony, the days would just keep getting shorter and shorter and colder and colder and the sun would never come back,” she said.

Corrected
“The celebration of solstice is based on the ancient belief that if you didn’t pray for the sun to return, the days would just keep getting shorter and shorter and colder and colder and the sun might never come back,” she said.
