It is difficult to focus on anything for extended periods of time. The boy is pretty much mobile. He will find any item and rip into it. Moments ago I saw him grab a bag of nacho chips that had been on a window sill. He managed to in a period of four seconds pick up the back and shake it.

By the time I was standing and halfway across the room, the bag was inverted and the floor was covered in chips. Everywhere. Of course you look up and the boy has a gleam of pride in his eyes.

It’s interesting. Maybe it’s because I’ve changed him at least 400 times (Yes that number is probably an accurate estimation).. but I get surprised when people think that Aiden is a girl. To me.. he’s pretty much “all boy.”

(stepped away from this post for a moment)

Make that 401. And OMG! I’m so happy we’re feeding him 8-{

I’ve been able to keep up with the posting schedule so far. sidhefire asked me to write a story about God. That may be an ongoing project.

I suppose I should ask if this should be a work of fiction (as opposed to the bible which so far is holding the number 1 spot on the fiction list despite the assault of Harry Potter). Or perhaps it should be more of an essay concerning my views.

As mentioned earlier in the week, aiden_freeman has teeth now. And they are growing faster than an Asian bad guy’s fingernails in an old martial art flick.

The downside to this is that Diaper time is becoming… well… ugly.

Aiden in the mean time is hammering on the drum that is neither a Djimbe nor a Doumbek. I’m not quite sure what it is, actually. But he’s happily pummeling it.

Hmmn, he drools, babbles incoherently, almost has a sense of rhythm and lives off his parents. Yup… Musician.

To keep myself near the computer I may have made an immensely bad choice in using the TV as a distraction. There were just 3 commercials on (7:42)

Each one more offensive than the previous one.

Balls of Fury
Cross “Enter the Dragon” with “Dodgeball”. I have honestly no idea. I’m left the question, “Why?” Actually the real question is, “When did Christopher Walken throw in the towel?”

Kia Rondo
There is nothing more personally disturbing than an advertisement for a minivan that uses “Let the Sunshine” as the commercial music. It just sort of makes you feel like… well, you know what it makes you feel like.

eSurance
I had the wonderful fortune of recently answering on online survey expressing my opinion of eSurance. One of my majors in college was Radio and TV production. Two of my classes were in commercial construction/production. The eSurance campaign has annoyed me from day one.

If you haven’t seen these commercials (which is nigh impossible due to their ad budget) you aren’t missing much. Well, except for the anime special. Anime Special? That’s right. The eSurance campaign is a series of anime-like spy adventures. The first bunch of these that I caught randomly while fast-forwarding on my tivo left me wondering what the new anime was that I was missing.

But what annoys me above anything else about these commercials is the fact that all they really say is that they have the lowest rates.

Now… let’s remember the basic rule of caveat-emptor. You get what you pay for.

So.. what are you paying for with insurance? You are paying for the right and expediency to get money back in times of loss.

in a world of claim denials and adjusters who are really not looking out for your best interest… Do you really want to pay for a company who’s offering the lowest cost as a throw away line in a commercial meant to make you think it’s just a flashy cartoon.

Amusingly the survey asked, “Is eSurance a company you feel you can trust?”

I was pleased to have the chance to tell people at eSurance how I felt about their campaign.

This hell was concluded by flipping to MadTV and seeing a routine pop on with Stuart.

The TV doesn’t like me.

Damning my brain…

I actually like the idea of disciplining myself to typing today. Many times I’ve told myself.. that if I had time… I’d write some of my inner thoughts. The strange way that I perceive things and take them apart.

Seeing the big patterns and the complexities of society with a simple framing view.

And yet.. at 7:15 I find my intelligence scanning Wikipedia’s entry on MadTV for the name of the cast member I absolutely despised.

I’m still not sure I’ve been able to find it, even after looking at the complete cast list

Though after consulting the list of MadTV characters.. I’ve found my bane. “Comedian” Michael McDonald played a character called Stuart. I’m really not going to elabourate on this character beyond the fact that it was the one thing that spoiled an otherwise enjoying sketch comedy show for me.

So there you have it.. The depths of my complex views on the world… Or at least that which I damn my mind for distracting me from the complexities of my thoughts.

And I should put in the obligatory report since the topic had yet to emerge.
shimmeringjemmy and aiden_freeman are both still asleep. Shortly I will plug in the cell phone since I sense that some of my posts today will be audio based as I wrestle and wrangle the child.
