I made a voice post earlier. If anyone is willing to try to transcribe it… It’d be massively appreciated. The auto-transcriber… didn’t do too great a job.

I’d do it, but considering the time it’d take and the fact that once I do it, I lock out anyone else from transcribing… it’s best that I call for assistance.

The post was about the fact that my nearly 11 month old has discovered pelvic thrusting… To which one of my dearest (and longest termed) friends IMed the following:

FH: Now, say this with me,
FH: “That is something for by yourself.”

Me: Is that line about me posting about it, or the line I’m supposed to say to Aiden.

FH: The line you’re supposed to say to Aiden
FH: It works with {our daughter}
FH: It slowed her down during the “Hey! That feels good!” phase.

Me: Girls pelvic thrust?

FH: Yep.
FH: It feels good!
FH: Of course they do.

Me: yigh

FH: Why yigh?

Me: The things you just don’t expect.

FH: Fortunately, I got a heads up from another mom.
FH: With the wording.
FH: It has worked perfectly.
FH: Otherwise, {she} would still try to do it in public.

Me: Yeah, but I tell him it’s for on his own time.. and then I find out I can’t get into the bathroom for a week, and his socks start to go missing…

FH: Welcome to parenthood.

Somehow, I’ve gotten up to 3 sponsors. Thank you kindly to all of them. One is $2 for each hour I survive. As a result I am nearly at $200 raised for planned parenthood. Which makes me feel kinda fuzzy and happy. Apparently this already puts me in the top quarter of fundraisers for the event.

More over I’m pleased that of the original blogs committed to the process nearly 20% haven’t lasted the first 5 hours. I’m not so pleased abut others dropping out.. I’m more pleased that I’m not one of them. This is kinda cool and very much an incentive for me to have better follow-thru.

Before the inquiry, I’d like to take a moment to talk about HELL TOYS

Most of what we buy for aiden_freeman comes from consignment shops. Effectively used toys and clothes. shimmeringjemmy bought a toy for him. It turned out to be a HELL TOY

It is this rolling toy with little balls in it. So it makes a white noise-ish sound when rolled. This is not what makes it a HELL TOY. See, when jarred by a child it plays a digital recording of “The Farmer in the Dell” followed by a childs laugh. It also lights up. That being said.. the jarring sensor is broken. Sometimes it has a hair trigger. And I mean if someone across the room brushes their hair.. it goes off. Other times…. You can place kick it across the room and it doesn’t make a sound.

I only bring this up because it is behind the sofa and randomly going off for no reason.

Thus: HELL TOY HELL TOY! HELL TOY

(ahem)

Now for the inquiry. Recently I stumbled (no, really, I don’t no how I found the site) upon Facebook. I think it’s recently been gobbled up by that acquirer of Web 2.0 Sixapart. (Yes, the same company that convinced brad that it wasn’t selling out.)

Anyone else played with this site? Anyone else on it? How did you find it? how do you find it? What do you think of it?

Yes… I am a social networking whore.

And while I don’t have your attention.. I’d like to introduce
asphyxi

asphyxi is my blogathon monitor. Her job is to basically report me to blogathon central if I stop posting. (At least that’s the impression I get)

Everybody wave 😉

I really love the film version of Jeffrey (having not seen the stage show)

Nathan Lane plays a Catholic Priest (which he defines as somewhere between Altar Boy and Florist). He explains where most get their view of “God”

The Broadway artwork for My Fair Lady.

The big bearded man in he cloud pulling Rex Harrison’s strings.

I was raised Jewish. So I got the Jew’s eye view of God. (I refuse to use the term old testament as I always preferred “Testement of the God of the Jews, the cheap dime store sequel, and the wrap up to the unintended triology penned by that crazy guy”) Granted, the Jew’s eye view of God is that God is a scary male, like diety with often impossible expectations and a penchant for temper-tantrums. On the upside, he did say that polygamy was not only recommended but was in fact a blessing. Sadly, he was also way to misogynistic for my tastes… but I was a young twice-a-year Jew (We went to synagogue for Yom-Kippur and Rosh-Hashanna and spent the rest of the year looking forward to celebrating Chanukah (official andrei-english spelling) and suffering thru Passover.)

When you’re raised a sort of Reformed-Hassidic-Conservadox Jew (our piety was metered by how close the Rabbi lived to us)… you get a rather warped view of your religion.

Next up… My collegiate disagreement with God. Loopholing bartering my soul to the devil. And Why Wiccanism didn’t work for me.

All on the trip down amnesia lane of what makes up my current view of God.

Voice Post:

I have the idea for one or two S&F filtered posts I want to write. But unfortunately they do not cover the requirements of the day. Also… while I don’t think she’s posted it yet… I think shimmeringjemmy may have come up with an amazing idea for next year’s Blogathon.

I am contemplating the question of god. Not the big universal.. “I am human” Question of God… the request for today’s blogathon.. post about God. it is coming… I just need to chew on it and get it written up.

Later I may have to post by voice. I’m looking for people willing to transcribe if that occurs 🙂
