Madeleine L’Engle is dead at 88
People who know me well, know that I do not read a lot of fiction. It’s not that I don’t enjoy the genre… or even that I don’t enjoy reading. I just don’t find a lot of books that either captivate me or keep me in a manner that affords me the time to break away to read.
“A Wrinkle in Time” is not only one of the few pieces of literature I treasure… it’s one that I make a point to re-read every few years.
It was a stunning book that has allowed me to identify with not one.. but all of the characters everytime I’ve read it.
Ms. L’Engle will be sorely missed.

Ooooh… how sad.
I saw her speak at MythCon in 1995… she was awesome.
She will be very very missed.
*mourns*
I wish I could have met her. *cries*
agreed!
on all points. Now I have to go tell my friend and her orange cat named Ananda 😉
short hello
I myself read less sci-fi (and see less movies) than most of my friends. I have not read any books by Ms. L’Engle, but I will keep “A Wrinkle in Time” in my mind for the future.
Now the main reason I came over to your LJ… Have you have seen this:

I have heard through the grape vine (aka my spies;) that you have some helpful info for L & L (from K.H.). I have already seen this info (and thanks BTW) but I would like to see the original post. Would you please let me in so I can read and reply if needed?

Re: short hello
I think I’d pulled you off LJ when your journal went dead for a while. I didn’t realize that was R.Ch…
I’ve added you.. You should be able to see it. Email me at my LJ address so we can connect on this… I’m willing to do anything I can to help.
