Please take me off your Loud Twitter filter? Andrei, I can’t stand it. I’ve been railing against it in my own lj and have already un-effed one twit. I don’t want to un-eff you but ACK! Why??! I don’t want to hear anyone twitter. It’s not personal.
Do you un-friend people who microblog on LJ in general? I’m seriously curious, since I LoudTwitter too…. How is it different from having one post a day full of small updates?
I don’t have anyone on my flist who microblogs the way the tweeters twit (or is it twitters tweet??)
I have un-effed very few people in something like 6 or 7 years on lj. I usually only un-eff those who never reply to my entries and who I don’t know in real life. But I have un-effed two tweeters. I like both of them a bunch, but the frickin’ tweeting is something I have near zero tolerance for.
I can’t explain the strength of my reaction…but somehow Loud Twitter seems rude to me. And in the particular instance you’re referring to, though A is a real life friend, he never comments in my lj and I don’t want to read anyone’s tweets, so I’ve bowed out.
Your disagreement with twitter seems almost like hating a hammer for being a hammer. some people make annoying noises with hammers, some people make beautiful cabinets. When they all show up in one place it sure seems like a strange reason to defriendistrate someone, your other reasons make allot more sense to me.
I have never seen anyone use Twitter for anything I’d want to read.
Undoubtedly, there are exceptions.
But Loud Twitter is, imo, one of the most disgusting evil pieces of irritating crap ever…and I wish it would die.
At least with Twitter, I could opt in or out. But when I sign up for someone’s flist, it’s because I am interested in them or because there is some sharing between us.
LT isn’t sharing. it’s blasting. There is no back and forth. It’s imposing itself.
