So… for the past 24-48 hours… I have been.. unwell

Thanks to some meds (today) … I’m starting to get some sense of normalcy back…slowly.

Unfortunately, I haven’t really had much to eat. Maybe 2-3 bananas. Some saltines, some water and the high point… A jelly on rye bread sandwich.

I figured I’d look on line for ‘what to eat on a sour stomach/suffering from d**’

And I found tonnes of lists.

The part that’s got me “oiked” off… Every BLOODY list is the same.

1) Don’t eat this
2) cut out this
3) Avoid this
4) reduce intake of this
5) stop eating this
6) Stop drinking this.

In the words of the masters: Can we stop talking “YAMA” here. I need some dietary NIYAMA.

I don’t have a lot of energy to begin with. If I’m spending all my time going, “Nope, not that” I’m too damned tired when I get to something and go… Hmmn, not on the list. Wonder if it’s safe.

Sigh.

****I**** am a dad!

I have just fed the boy. He downed almost an entire jar of baby food. This was really his first real feeding. He got into it after a few spoons. I mean realllly got into it.

He enjoyed the process and the food. (ZEUGMA!)

And once he figured out what was going on, he was eager. And NEAT!

The clean up was not hell afterwards.

Monday we will inflict THE CAKE!

It will be glorious.. And yes, tailerouge… there will be video.

Oh yes.

🙂

This morning aiden_freeman went grabbing at a banana. He sucked on the peel and was very confused.

Just now shimmeringjemmy gave him a piece of dried bread to gum on.

He wasn’t quite sure what to make of it.. But he was intrigued.

I am reheating Chinese food. I noted that the local Chinese restaurant confused me because they put ham in the combination fried rice.

H: Ah, because with Ham the Chinese food is no longer Kosher.

A: Right, because ham isn’t kosher whereas the pork is. Because Pork comes from the Kosher half of… um.. the pig.

I am domestic!

So, I decided that I wanted Deviled Eggs. Mind you… I’ve never made Deviled Eggs.
Note also, that I’ve never had a great deal of luck with Hard Boiling eggs, either.

But tonight I decided I was gonna make ’em.

Hard Boiling the eggs took about 18 minutes from fridge to bowl. Then about another 15 to cool.

The Deviling part took about 15-20 minutes. Granted, about 10 was shelling the newly HBEs.

While, the secret of the deviling is apparently a family secret that gets passed on via initiatory ritual with threat of communication resulting in pain by hanging by one’s lower endowments… I will now… risk the damage by giving my first attempt recipe:

6 fork mashed HBE yolks.
1 tsp: Grey Poupon country mustard
1/4 cup, lt. mayo
Mix until that pasty goo.

1 dash Ground Black Pepper
1 dash Seasoned Salt
1 dash Paul Prudhomme’s Poultry Magic (It seemed appropriate)
Mix again

Put contents of gruel into baggie. Cut off a corner.
Squeeze into HBE half whites.
Sprinkle on Paprika

Taste analysis? I think the first run went well.
See for yourself…
