Sound of Sickness
Lyrics ©2009 Andrei Freeman

Hello sinus, my old friend
I’ve come to breathe with you again
With all that mucus badly dripping
Left my nose with tissue gripping
And my vision that was blinded from the pain
still it drains
until the taste of NyQuil

Yeah.. I’m just going to leave it there.

RIP Michael Chrichton

Science Fiction Author Michael Chrichton died unexpectedly Tuesday.

Chrichton was the author of a few of my favourite stories including “The Andromeda Strain.”

His eulogy will none the less involve far too much scientific detail and not get around to the actual cause of death until about 2 hours in. Regardless of not comprehending any of this, his Eulogy will be fascinating.

The beauty is not in the product.. but this specific formula.

Found in a local grocery store today. Posted this to facebook earlier. Had to bring it here. Sorry for the slightly blurry quality.

I want to know how this wiring works between father and son.

Since having “A” I have discovered that I am an absolute pawn to media over small children.

Commercials with them make me contemplate the product. Movies with them make me defensive.

And don’t get me started about Mufasa’s death scene in “Lion King”

Recently, I’ve been watching “The Guild” – this is the program that effectively inspired “Dr. Horrible” to be made.

The basic plot is a series of “Insert your favourite WoW like game” addicts trying to interact with the real world.

The irony is not without merit, but it was really hard for me to enjoy this over time due to a need for suspending not only disbelief but also resigning some core issues that have developed as a parent.

I suppose it just goes too far into the realm of “Look how disfunctional online game addiction can make you.”

To be honest I absolutely resent two of the characters, have no pity for the rest, and can not even laugh at the jokes about children. I don’t know if I can make it through more episodes after numbers 6 and 7.

Don’t get me wrong. I salute them for the work done on this guerilla project. It’s amazing and a great step for independent-made-for-internet entertainment. I’m just personally not entertained.

I used to have a very macabre sense of humour. Verging on warped, twisted, and actually broken in 3 places likely needing a permanent pin.

But each episode just makes me more an more uncomfortable.

What happened to my sense of humour?

Please remember, I’ve already come out as a supporter of Barack Obama. The following post is tongue-in-cheek humour viewing the nomination process.

Translation… please don’t flame.

I wish I were a better writer so I could flesh this out as a submission for the Onion.

It struck me today looking at some of the press on how the Clinton campaign is fairing sounded vaguely familiar. Looking up an old article with which I’ve borrowed liberally.

Senator Hillary Clinton Unwilling to Set Exit Strategy on Democratic Primary Conflict

Senator Hillary Clinton said Saturday that pulling out of the Democratic Primary now is not an option, rejecting calls by some super-delegates and many people asked in polls to start bringing the campaign to a close. “The Obama supporters and media are trying to get us to retreat. Their goal is to get us to leave before we have had a chance to show the democrats what a government that is elected and truly accountable to its citizens can do for its people,” Clinton said in her weekly radio address. “We will settle for nothing less than victory” , she said later.

Clinton’s latest recommendation includes a new “surge” approach. Increasing the potential number of winnable delegates thus assuring final victory in the theatre of operations. At this point she does not see reason to let up on the campaign for the democratic nomination for at least 9 to 18 months.
