People should not be afraid of their governments.
Governments should be afraid of their people.
Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, t’was his intent
To blow up King and Parliament.
Three-score barrels of powder below
To prove old England’s overthrow;
By God’s providence he was catch’d
With a dark lantern and burning match.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, let the bells ring.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King!
Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. [carves V into poster on wall] The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it’s my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.
Don’t forget to vote this week.
If you don’t mind, I’d like to steal your post verbatim. I don’t think I could improve upon it at all.
Crib it and credit…
That’s what I always say. Please feel free to use.
Re: Crib it and credit…
Merci beaucoups!
Re: Crib it and credit…
I will be stealing as well. I realized today that I am on vacation and did not fill out an absentee ballot. So I can at least encourage others to vote.
Doom!
Remember… remember
How is it we’ve come to such a state that posting the words to a folk song could put us on a watch list (the 750,000+)? Thank you Sir! For Courage and Vigilance, let us never forget the true patriots.
Watchlist?
Do you have a link?
Re: Watchlist?
It’s unclear from the article
USA TODAY …(By Mimi Hall, USA TODAY
WASHINGTON — The government’s terrorist watch list has swelled to more than 755,000 names, according to a new government report that has raised worries about the list’s effectiveness.); whether this is US citizens and non-citizens on the Terrorist Watchlist or if it’s just those frightful foreigners trying to get into this wonderful land of freedom and democracy.
see, you inspired me to look up local elections, and it turns out that there are none this year. weird.
Cheers!
